This would qualify it for no reccomendation already but when the game is working, it's mediocre at best. The translation was just ripped from the Hong Kong localization (so expect engrish text wherever humanly applicable) The online is a wasteland at this point, so don't bother if you're in it for that. The singleplayer is pretty mediocre, and the arcade / story mode is brought down not only by the aformentioned engrish, but also some embarrassing endings. You see that 5th picture in the gallary? Imagine that but for every female character, being explained away by something very along the lines of "oh, well I guess the battle is over now, ho hum what should I do now? Disrobing sounds like a good idea--". I'll add that even for a japanese fighting games, most of the female character designs are pretty shameless in their obvious intent (my personal favorite is either the essential equivelent of the daughter of c'thulu having a permanant wedgie or the cyborg ninja having her nipples protrude through metal armor). The customization options are kind of cool on the surface, but you have to unlock colors, and you're only allowed a certain number of them. You're better off referring to Blazblue Central Fiction's modding community if you have a hard on for that sort of thing. The customization for the fights are a pretty okay idea, but they balance eachother out in that most of them either are just other moves that were already on the character but worse, have no utility in the first place for the character or are not worth the difficulty of input (btw, the fact that this game at all expects dp moves in the air demonstrates how new this team was to developing these games). As a sidenote, choosing step over dash movement for any character is a straight downgrade for all of them. As for balance, its not the absolute worst, but if there were to be an online scene, you'd probably come to expect the three characters with easy to access "technically not touch of deaths, but may as well be since they also corner carry and end with hard knockdown into 50/50". It's alright with friends, but frankly there are just other fighting games which do what this game does but cheaper and / or better. 3/10 This is definitely a pass, but if its ever on sale, get it under the assumption that you'll probably have to refund immediately it if you don't have the aformentioned 3rd party tech.. I love anime style fighting games... but I felt this one was just sub-par. The moves didnt feel impactful, the characters felt bland.. and I hated their idea of 'custom color', where instead of being able to pick whatever color you desire for a certain part, instead it was overly simplified with preselected colors, which most you had to unlock. The combat felt bland, and I do not like that there was no option for at least english subtitles. I have no idea which characters have a story with who, and the arcade playthrough for a story... It felt like the ending I witnessed was written by a 10 year old. the dialogue just felt so... immature, for lack of better words. Now the combat, while bland, is still playable. I just say this because I feel that I have been spoiled by Guilty Gear and Blazblue in terms of speed of combat and graphical style. the game isnt -TOO- bad... but I just unfortuantely could not find my bearings in this one, nor do I feel I could bother to continue playing after beating the game once with just one character. For any major fans of something like Guilty Gear or Blazblue, I'd recommend you stay away from this one, but if you are just a nerd/major fan for anime fighters in general... there should be -something- here for you to enjoy. I will admit, I loved the music in this one and the backgrounds were still entertaining to see, but the characters i saw just looked... stereotypical in terms of anime fighters. Most felt cookie-cutter, in terms of they felt like characters from old snk fighting games like King of Fighters. All that being said, I just cant bring myself to truly recommend this game. As stated, if you are fan of much faster combat in terms of fighting games, you might want to avoid this one, but if you are a major fan of any and all anime fighters you are sure to find something to enjoy with this.. Ok, this game is pretty fun not gonna lie.. it has cool features like selecting what special move you wanna use before a fight, if you want your character to run or dash and so on. Roster is filled with a good and diverse cast of character for almost every taste tho balanse isn't that great but that's the fun and beauty of it.Netcode works pretty smoothly I play it with a friend of my same region (not country) and it run fine, tho as you may expected if you don't have a friend to play it the only it's pretty much dead. Why did I refound this game? well I play on 4k and this game not only does not support 4k but when I set it up to "fullscreen" it stays on windowed on a corner which sucks big time for me... despite the game having a base cheap price still can't justify paying full price for it just for that alone (if I pay the asked full price of the game I expect this one to work as intended regardless of how expensive or cheap base price is) All that being said, I still think is a good game and if you play on 1080 sure go ahead and buy it you will enjoy it otherwise I wouldn't really recommend paying base price for it.. This game is decent. It plays and has sprite work that feel reminiscent of street fighter alpha 3. While it has some differing mechanics it definitely isn't the greatest thing Ive played. this game does have some nice quirks here and there and in the long run was enjoyable to play. Overall this game is adequate as far as fighters go but in the long run it's not great.. 2D fighting game mixing traditional Anime style + King of Fighters style system mechanics TLDR: Fun game, nice atmosphere, cool characters. King of Fighters-esque system mechanics. Do the super, get big damage Helpful character specific banners on the sides of the game window containing your characters special moves and supers. Interesting characters, though the roster is small, so you might have trouble finding someone you click with Poor translation work. You get the gist of it, but it looks to be written by a child, lol. [*\/]. Pretty fun game for the price. The characters are interesting and the gameplay is solid, however I do feel like they could've done a better job with stage design and menu navigation (have to sit through scoring and most dialogue). I still recommend it ^_^
